We can fly...

Presley did her first plane ride last week. We headed to Arkansas on the 17th so she could meet her extended family. This was a very unexpected last minute trip but well worth it. Everyone LOVES Presley and we were so proud to show her off.

Dallas is doing "recruiting" type stuff for the CEC and they had two people they wanted to interview in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Dallas jumped at the chance. He called me and had me purchase a ticket for myself saying, "As soon as the funds are approved I will buy my ticket on the same flight." WEll, hahahaha, the "funds" weren't approved until the morning of the trip. So, he ended up taking a different flight than Presley and I. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous before the trip as to how it would all go.

We started the day with Presley a little bit fussy, not bad, but I was worried. However, there was no need to worry. My Presley is a globe trotter! YEAH!! I am so thrilled. WE had two flights there and two flights home and she did them both like a champ. Everyone on the flights couldn't believe that I had a baby because of how well she did. She made lots of friends on the planes and in the airports.

We arrived in northwest Arkansas where we got to visit with my aunts and uncles, see some friends and Presley was able to meet her Great Grandma Cook (my dad's mom). We all went to dinner and Presley was passed from person to person. You would think a person would mind that, but not my mobile baby. She was up for the challenge. Actually more content than when we are home.

We left Fayetteville and headed down to Cabot to help my sister Kaci with her move from there to Spokane, Wa. It was good that we went because she was having to do it all by herself with a two year old. However, you would not have known it when we showed up. She had everything in boxes and separated for the movers. Plus she had all but a little of the cleaning done. I was amazed. But, honestly, I don't expect less from Kaci. She always gives her best andeven when she is going through a hard time she just trucks right along....and with a SMILE. God, I love her.

We then headed to Jonesboro to hang out with Dallas' side of the family. The first night we got there a little early and just hung out with him Mom, DAd and sister. The next day Dallas got up wtih Presley and took her upstairs to play with Mumsie and Grandad while I got ready for church. We went to his Dad's church and showed Presley off to the sweet people of his congregation. They all stood around to see the pretty little girl he had been bragging about. Then after lunch, Mumsie (Dallas' mom), had invited the extended family over to meet Presley. From about 2pm-10:30pm we visited with family and friends. Presley was passed to and from many people and was loved on for all that time. She loved it!! Mom also loved watching the reaction of everyone to her little girl!

We then headed back to Cabot for a little last minute help for Kaci before heading back to Fayetteville. We flew out on the 25th to head back home! It was such a long trip but WELL worth it. We all needed the time with our family and I was glad Presley did so well. I have been telling everyone she is a different baby now that we have done this trip. She will ride in a car seat, take a pacifier and will sleep during the day better!!! What a big girl!!

Oh and one last thing. The unanimous comment of the week anytime someone saw her family, friend or stranger was. "Look at all that hair!!" Yep, my little one looks like Lyle Lovette!!! If you would like to look at pictures please click on this icon:

Happy First Father's Day Dallas....

So, Father's Day was last Sunday and it was Dallas' first! We didn't do much, but we did get to have dinner with some friends. Dallas has only been a dad for 7 weeks and is doing phenominal at it. But, those of you who have known him for a while probably knew that would be the case! He loves his lil' Presley and is super with her. He even helps at night!!!

I am so greatful that I get to experience parenthood alongside of him! He will bring out the best in me and will be a great daddy and friend to his children!

Friendly Business...

Please check the side of my blog for a new addition called "Friendly Business"! I have some friends who have just started personal businesses and I want to do my part in helping them get word of their business out. If you check out their sites and can use their business please do so and send any friends to their sites who can use their expertise! I am all about word of mouth and hope that by having them on the site I will be able to help them in their goals to success. Now, if only I could find a job where I get paid to encourage the socks off people I would be doing alright!!! These businesses are full of integrity and are owned by women who amaze me on a daily basis! Good luck ladies!! Oh, and if you are reading this and want me to add your businesses site to the blog let me know!!

Another video

So, some of you asked that I video Presley grabbing her hair and yesterday I was able to catch a little bit of it. We were playing and she was talking up a storm when all of a sudden she got hold of some locks. This time she learned to let go!! Good for her!! I hope you all enjoy because I find it funny!

All Smiles...

Week 6 has been a different week for little Miss Presley and her parents. She is definitly on more of a schedule and is going longer between feedings. Yay for Mommy!! She sleeps a lot more during the day now too. Which is also good for Mommy. It allows me to get so much more done during the day. However, she is still a cuddly baby. She really likes her mommy and daddy. She prefers us to hold her most of the day and even likes it better if WE engage her during her floor time. I have to admit that I love this about Presley. Although it makes it hard to get things done around the house(I do lots one handed), I get to really love on my baby. I am hoping to always be a mom who cares more about being with my kid than trying to be "all that I can be" as a woman.

Dallas is home this week and what a difference it makes. He is such a big help to me and loves playing with Presley. Ok, so he does spend lots of time on the computer, but his presence is so calming and peaceful to me that I would let him play his games all day as long as he is home!! Joking, he isn't that bad!! I love how much he loves Presley!! And, she looks JUST like him. It is so cute! I am glad for her that she does!

We got on video her smiling and grinning! We decided to try and were so glad we got it. I was talking to her Mumsie and Grandad(Dallas' parents) and they asked if she was smiling and I said, "Oh, all the time!!" Her Grandad's response to that was "We are getting on a plane now and heading down there!!" I thought that was so cute! So, we thought we would share the joy of Presley with each of you!! Beware there is lots of mommy and daddy's voices in the background.

Cook Kids

This past weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in a long time!! Brent, Crystal, Dylan, Kaci, Katelynn and Dusty all came to Gainesville for the weekend!! They came to spend time wtih little Presley and also to catch up with eachother. I can't tell you how relaxing and fun it was to all be together in one place. We laughed, shared old stories and did a lot of supporting and encouraging of one another. We have all been through a lot since the last time we all have been together and some of us are going trough a lot now. So, it was very theraputic to spend a few days together! I realized I only took pictures of the nieces/nephews so forgive me! Katelynn and Dylan had a wonderful time getting to know Presley and playing with eachother. We all went swimming each day and Crystal got to leave with the tan she intended on getting before she left Florida. And, Presley got to wear her first little swimsuit and experience "fun in the sun"!

It always blows me away at how well all of us get along. We even have in-laws in the mix that get along superbly! Can you believe it! I think a lot of it comes down to respect and acceptance that we, even as children, were expected to have of others regardless of our own upbringing! Thanks mom and dad! Anyways, I could go on and on. It was wonderful to spend the time together and I absolutely hated seeing them leave! I hope it won't be long before we can all do it again.
